Residential Programs

Many people with disabilities can live successfully in community settings with support. HARC provides assistance to adults and children in community homes with higher levels of assistance and supported living settings where individuals need fewer supports. In addition to basic care, HARC ensures that people are fully included in the community, that their health care needs are met and that they are living the life they choose.

HARC’s group homes are small, residential facilities located within a community and designed to serve adults with developmental disabilities. These homes usually have six or fewer occupants and are staffed 24 hours a day by trained employees. Each group home is also regulated by a Residential Manager. HARC oversees all of its group homes through various quality control measures.

Residents of group homes usually have some type of Developmental Disability that impairs their ability to live independently. Many residents also have physical disabilities such as impairments of vision, communication, or ambulation. These individuals require continual assistance to complete daily living and self-care tasks. Some also require supervision due to behavior that may be dangerous to self or others, such as aggression or self-injurious behaviors.
